Cheltenham workplace services group named one of the best places to work in the UK by The Sunday Times

A Cheltenham firm which aims to 'inspire businesses to become better' through its range of workplace-related services, Commercial, has been ranked one of the best places to work in the UK in 2026 by The Sunday Times.

Cheltenham-based 'business transformation specialist' Commercial has been named in The Sunday Times's prestigious Best Places to Work in the UK list for 2026.

The group, which provides a range of workplace-related services from office essentials to high-end interior fit-outs, managed IT services and technologies to businesses across Europe, is included in the 'big companies' category – those with 250 to 1,999 employees – of this year's list, which ranks the UK's best places to work based on feedback from staff.

Determined by an independent survey covering six aspects of employee engagement, such as wellbeing, empowerment and job satisfaction, Commercial achieved ‘excellent’ scores across all six areas, with 80 per cent of staff completing the survey.

The company, which employs 293 people, also received the ranking's Industry Award for the business and management services sector.

Commercial's recent employee-focused developments include the refurbishment of its Leckhampton headquarters, with workspaces tailored to support neurodiverse colleagues and varied working preferences, while a multi-faith room, dedicated spaces for colleagues with children or dogs, and nature-inspired design elements have also been introduced. 

Boasting annual turnover of around £98 million, the group is looking to accelerate its 'sustainable growth' over the next decade, having achieved EcoVadis Platinum status – a global standard for sustainable business – in 2025, placing it in the top one per cent of companies worldwide for sustainability performance.
