Wishford Education is helping players 'level up' with sports camps from internationally acclaimed coaches

Big names from the world of cricket, hockey, lacrosse, football and rugby are coaching new Cotswolds sports camps from Wishford Education at Westonbirt School, this summer – and places are already filling up fast.

Promising to help developing sports stars 'level up their game', Westonbirt School in Tetbury is hosting a series of new sports performance camps in the Cotswolds this summer 2026, with some recognisable names leading the coaching.

From week-long residencies to intensive day sessions, featuring the kind of training, nutrition, recovery and coaching usually reserved for elite athletes, participants will benefit from the experience and expertise of internationally acclaimed coaches, as well as Westonbirt School's top-class facilities and spectacular rural setting. 

All camps are open to male and female players – and residential camps are also open to overseas students, too. 

The Stuart Barnes Cricket Performance Camp  

Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 August 2026

This three-day residential camp for cricketers aged 11 to 17 is hosted by elite bowling coach Stuart Barnes.

Helping cricketers take their bowling to the next level, Stuart shares insights from his time working at clubs across the country, as well as with the England Young Lions, the Bangladesh 1st XI, IPL star Sam Curran, test captain Ben Stokes, and Sri Lanka legend Kumar Sangakkara.

Participants will receive expert technical and tactical coaching on the pitch, as well as physical strength training and conditioning, mental coaching, and education around nutrition, recovery and professional habits off the pitch. 

The Stuart Barnes Cricket Performance Camp is all-inclusive and costs £545 per person, with a £25 early bird discount available until º£½ÇÉçÇø 30 May 2026.

The Aimee Ratapana Lacrosse Performance Camp 

Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 August 2026

Designed for players aged 11 to 17, this soon-to-be-launched Lacrosse Performance Camp is headed up by leading coach, Aimee Ratapana.

Helping players not just learn, but evolve, Aimee is a highly-regarded coach and mentor who has worked with England Lacrosse and in the elite Sixes league.

This series of day camps run over three consecutive days in August 2026, with full details, including prices, due to be revealed soon.

The Alex King Rugby Performance Camp  

Monday 17 to Friday 21 August 2026

Rugby players aged 13 to 17 can take part in a five-day international-style residential camp hosted by former Wasps fly half, Gloucester and Wales coach, Alex King.

Alex and his team of experienced coaches provide a structured and supportive environment to challenge participants and help them grow their game, providing a unique insight into life as a pro player.

From position-specific skill development, pressure training and game understanding on the pitch, to recovery, nutrition and mindset coaching off the pitch, this camp is ideal for high-performing players looking for a step up from a standard sports camp. 

The Alex King Rugby Performance Camp is all-inclusive and costs £745 per person.

Summer Hockey Camp from Discover Camps  

Wednesday 12 to Friday 14 August 2026

Led by former World U18 Club Championship winner and England Masters player, Paul Robinson, Discover Camps' Summer Hockey Camp gives players aged seven to 14 a chance to improve and test their skills, as well as build confidence in their abilities both individually, and as part of a team. 


The camp includes coaching in core techniques like first touch, footwork and defensive positioning, and attacking play, alongside strategic decision-making – as well as a chance to test out those newly honed skills in small-sided, competitive games each day.


The Summer Hockey Camp is non-residential, with individual days costing £60 each, or all three costing £165.

Discover Football Residential Camp  

Monday 17 to Wednesday 19 August 2026

Offering the opportunity to live and train like a pro footballer, the Discover Football Residential Camp is an immersive experience for players aged 11 and up.

The three-day camp is inspired by the professional game, with participants enjoying top-class coaching and education, workshops, evening activities, food and board – plus a drop-in visit from a footballing celebrity, too. 

The Discover Football Residential Camp costs £545, with an early bird price of £495 for bookings made before Sunday 7 June 2026.
