Founded in Huntley, start-up business Tuckshop is continuing its rapid rise with the launch of two new county locations at Krate Village in Whitminster and Longlevens Rugby Club in Gloucester in April 2026, º£½ÇÉçÇø its total to 21 Tuckshop sites across Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Shropshire.
The independent business is reimagining what vending can offer, swapping out the 'last resort' label of the standard packaged snacks found in most vending machines, for fridges stocked with fresh, handmade food from local bakers and independent producers.
Launched by the same company that have introduced Whole Moo World milk and milkshake vending machines to the region, inside the Tuckshop vending machines, customers will find a regularly-changing selection of sweet and savoury options – from cheesecakes, puddings and baked treats through to sausage rolls, scotch eggs and freshly made sandwich meal deals – all produced locally and restocked throughout the week. The result is something closer to a grab-and-go deli and bakery, rather than a traditional vending machine.
Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Tuckshop vending machines are convenient – serving everyone from early commuters to late-night workers, as well as communities where access to fresh food on the go can be limited. It has also created a unique new opportunity for local food producers to reach more potential customers – giving a new route to market for burgeoning brands.
Jacob James, founder of Tuckshop, said: 'We want people to cast aside their prejudices of the humble vending machine. Everything inside a Tuckshop is high quality and made by local makers and bakers. It’s about giving people access to the most delicious, fresh food, while also supporting the incredible independent businesses we have on our doorstep.
'It’s a truly convenient way to support local and all parts of the independent food network. We are local, our drivers are local, the food is local, even our site partners we work with are locals!'
The two new Gloucester locations continue Tuckshop’s mission to make high-quality, locally sourced food more accessible, while directly supporting small-scale producers across the region. Rather than competing on price, the focus is firmly on provenance, quality and championing independent makers, offering consumers a different option to the mass-market brands stocked on supermarket shelves.
With the total number of Tuckshop vending machines operating in Gloucestershire now reaching a milestone 10, look out for the machines also located at Gloucester Quays, Cheltenham Tigers Rugby Club, Quedgeley, Twigworth, Shurdington, Highnam Village Hall, Minsterworth Village Hall and Tewkesbury – strong signals that the business is building momentum as it reshapes expectations of convenience food – with plans to launch more sites in the north and south of the county still to come.
