QuoLux has become the latest Gloucestershire company singled out as a business which pursues purpose as well as profit.

Leadership development firm QuoLux has become the latest in a so far short list of businesses in Gloucestershire to achieve B Corporation (B Corp) status – marking companies out globally for pursuing purpose as well as profit.

QuoLux, which is based at Brockworth, has been certified by B Lab, the not-for-profit organisation behind the B Corp movement, as having met the rigorous social and environmental standards which represent its commitment to goals outside of shareholder profit.

Its increasingly sought after certification addresses the entirety of a business’ operations and covers key impact areas including workers, community, environment and customers.

Dr Stewart Barnes, chief executive officer of QuoLux, also the sponsors of the Family º£½ÇÉçÇø of the Year category in the SoGlos Gloucestershire º£½ÇÉçÇø Awards 2023said: ‘We’re delighted. We are passionate about leadership and business being a force for good and recognise that for societies and the world we live in to improve, we need more ‘purpose-led’ leadership, which is an important driver that connects social impact in the communities we live in and the value organisations deliver.’

Chris Turner, executive director of B Lab UK, said: ‘This is a movement of companies who believe business really can be a force for good. We know that QuoLux is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward.’

The B Corp community in the UK, representing a broad cross section of industries and sizes, is currently made up of more than 1,300 companies, including well-known brands such as The Body Shop, Innocent Drinks and organic food pioneers Abel & Cole.

QuoLux also works with Gloucestershire-based brands who have also achieved the B Corp - including award-winning organic herbal teas and supplements business Pukka Herbs, fifth generation family bakery Hobbs House Bakery, and Optimising IT.

The business is also the sponsors of the Family º£½ÇÉçÇø of the Year category in the SoGlos Gloucestershire º£½ÇÉçÇø Awards 2023.
