For Karina Thomas, the founder of ProSkin Clinic & Health UK, the journey into advanced skin health started from a deeply personal place.
Long before creating a leading skin clinic in Gloucester, she was struggling with severe acne and rosacea, dealing with painful skin conditions that affected her confidence and everyday life.

Determined to understand skin health on a deeper level, Karina invested in education and qualifications, studying the science behind skin care and advanced treatments. As her skin gradually improved, so did her confidence.

From personal struggles to finding purpose
In 2013, Karina faced another major challenge following the loss of her sister, Katie.
鈥楽he was not just my sibling 鈥� she was my best friend,鈥� says Karina. 鈥業 went through a very dark period emotionally and financially, and at one point I found myself over 拢25,000 in debt and struggling with depression.鈥�
During that difficult chapter, she realised the moments that brought her peace were the moments spent helping other people feel better about themselves.
鈥業 understood what it felt like to feel trapped in your own skin, and I realised that helping other people heal was also helping me heal too.鈥�
That realisation became the foundation for ProSkin Clinic & Health UK, with Karina officially opening the clinic to help people struggling with skin concerns, confidence and self-esteem.
鈥業 began witnessing transformative moments where individuals walked through the door burdened by insecurities and left with newfound confidence,鈥� she says. 鈥業t became clear to me that this was more than a job 鈥� it was my calling.鈥�
Building a Gloucestershire clinic with heart
As demand grew, Karina says ProSkin Clinic & Health UK quickly became fully booked, with clients travelling from across the county and beyond for advanced skin treatments and specialist care.
Karina soon realised she wanted to build something bigger than herself alone. 鈥業 wanted to help more people regain confidence, feel comfortable in themselves again and access genuine high-quality care,鈥� she explains.
She focused on creating a highly trained team, robust systems and exceptional clinical standards to ensure every client received the same level of care and support.
