One of Gloucestershire's most anticipated annual events, The Royal International Air Tattoo (RIAT) is returning to the Cotswolds in 2026, with hundreds of aircraft on display both in the skies and on the ground.

When and where is The Royal International Air Tattoo 2026?

The Royal International Air Tattoo 2026 takes place across three days from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 July 2026, at RAF Fairford near Cirencester.

What to expect from The Royal International Air Tattoo 2026?

The world's biggest military air show, RIAT combines thrilling air displays from skilled pilot teams with static displays on the ground, allowing visitors to get 'up close and personal' with military aircraft from across the globe.

This year's event theme, Fighter Meet, will see fighter jets from around the world take to the Gloucestershire skies, including aircraft used in air-to-air combat in the last century like the Havilland Vampire FB.52, and modern examples, such as the Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II.

Visitors can also explore the latest advancements in science and tech in RIAT's Techno Zone®; enjoy food and drinks, shopping and entertainment – and snap a selfie with a pilot – in the Aircrew Zone; dive into life in the Royal Air Force at the RAF Experience; and for an extra fee, gain access to one of its hospitality enclosures.

Parents and children can enjoy the show with shaded areas, garden seating and private toilets in the family enclosure; while Altitude offers visitors an 'upbeat' atmosphere with a live DJ and all-inclusive food and drinks, with several more offering comfort and luxury with great views of all the action in the skies, too.
