Gloucestershire Airport has appointed Jason Ivey as its new airport director, joining the team in Staverton this August 2023.

Ivey brings with him a proven track record of operational excellence and growth, having begun his aviation career at 18 when he joined the Royal Air Force and since held senior positions including aerodrome inspector for the Civil Aviation Authority; operations manager at Farnborough Airport; chief fire officer at Gatwick Airport; airport director at London Southend Airport; and operations director at London Oxford Airport.

The news comes after former managing director Karen Taylor's resignation in June 2023 raised concerns about the airport's future.

Ivey said: 'I鈥檓 looking forward to building on this airport鈥檚 important role as a gateway for regional growth and supporting the great and varied businesses that call the airport home.

'I鈥檝e been in the role for just a week but I鈥檝e seen enough to be genuinely excited by the potential of the exceptional team of people we have here. I鈥檓 very much looking forward to plotting the airport鈥檚 next steps to support innovation, excellence and greater collaboration.'
